What is the difference between a Page and a Post?
WordPress organizes content into two main categories: Posts and Pages. Understanding the distinction helps you choose the right format for your content.
- Posts are designed for dynamic, time-sensitive content. These are typically blog entries, news articles, or press releases that are displayed in reverse-chronological order (newest first). Even if you don’t plan to run a traditional “blog,” the post functionality is ideal for any section of your site that requires regular updates, such as a “Latest News” feed, company announcements, or personal updates.
- Pages are intended for static content that rarely changes. These form the foundational structure of your website. A classic example is an “About Us” page; while you might update it occasionally, the core information remains consistent over time.
In short: Use Posts for content that evolves regularly, and Pages for content that stays the same.
How do you connect my website to social media and/or reviews?
We use Smash Balloon plugins to connect to Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok for social media feeds. We also use Smash Balloon for review feeds from Facebook and Google.
We use Super RSS Reader to embed your Bluesky, Pixelfed, and Mastodon social media feeds.
